Portrait explores the life and art of Tom Schurr, my longtime friend and collaborator, as he grapples with the onslaught of Parkinson's disease. Through intimate conversations, raw observation and archival material, it asks: what compels a person to devote their life to making art, even in the face of obscurity and hopelessness?
A collaboration with my brother, Owen Gothill.
