Portrait explores the life and art of Tom Schurr, my longtime friend and collaborator, as he grapples with the onslaught of Parkinson's disease. Through intimate conversations, raw observation and archival material, it asks: what compels a person to devote their life to making art, even in the face of obscurity and physical decline?
A collaboration with my brother, Owen Gothill.

I work as a software developer by day and make films early in the morning or late at night. My two sons keep me (in)sane in between. I’m originally from London and spent part of my childhood in France. I now live in Berlin.
